What is an inverter?

An inverter type system is the name of the technology that allows the capacity of the system to ramp up or down in capacity according to demand.

Can I run a cooling system through my existing gas ducted heating system?

Yes, you can install an add-on air conditioning system although we do need to enlarge the size of the duct network (if it has not been done before).

We need more airflow to cool the home as opposed to what we need to heat the home, therefore we need bigger ducting to accommodate it.

Can I have evaporative cooling running through the same ducts as my gas ducted heating?

No unfortunately evaporative cooling needs a much greater volume of air and therefore the ductwork needs to be much bigger

Does evaporative cooling work on humid days?

Evaporative cooling works best in hot dry conditions.

Melbourne normally experiences these conditions and we do not get the humidity of say, Nth Queensland.

What is a multi-split?

A multi-split is a system where we can install multiple indoor units and connect them to one central outdoor unit which saves the end user money in terms of running costs.

Does the term SPLIT mean that the air conditioner will heat as well as cool?

No, the term SPLIT system simply means that the unit is split in to two parts.

There is an indoor (fan coil unit) and an outdoor unit (Condensing unit).
